Summer Swing Sizzles

Hey everybody!! Welcome to June! Summer is almost here and swing dancing festivities have already started!! This is the season of outdoor swing. We started off with the L.A. Music Dance Center. Currently there are venues such as the 3rd Street Swingers in Santa Monica. This past Memorial Day a good number of us were at the La Canada Memorial Park dancing to the tunes of Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries! (Link to photos to follow!) Here's a small sample of upcoming outdoor swing events:

• Along with Saturday Nights, Disneyland has added Friday Night Swing Dancing starting on June 17.
• One Colorado in old town Pasadena will once again begin their Outdoor Dancing series - starting with Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums on June 25.
• Sunday "Concerts in the Park" at Library Park in old town Monrovia will start to host Live Bands on Friday Nights. (Check calendar for bands)
• "Swinging Sounds from Downtown" at the AMC Plaza in Burbank will have outdoor dancing on July 21 featuring several swing bands in July. (Check calendar for bands)
• July 4th - The Warner Center will be featuring Captain Cardiac & the Coronaries.
• Furman Park in Downey will be hosting some bands - Jumping Joz on July 13.
• A few of us are still checking on The Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum to see if they will repeat their live music and dancing this summer.
• Check the Hollywood Bowl calendar for any upcoming bands. (Last year we lucked out and danced to several awesome venues: Big Band events, Harry Connick Jr., Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, etc.)
